Chris Trengove is a writer and script editor specializing in animation and live television. As a screenwriter he has a number of film screenplays to his credit, and he is the author or co-author of several books.

After leaving university Chris trained as a journalist, before working as a strip club stage manager, teacher, rock band manager and minicab driver. He has been a fulltime writer since the early eighties.

After working in advertising and corporate communications, in the mid-eighties Chris spent 18 months in New York writing scripts for THUNDERCATS and other top-rating animated series. Back in the UK, he became one of the country's most sought-after animation writers, and to date has written scripts for, developed or script-edited almost 40 successful series. Most notably, he developed and wrote the Bible for worldwide smash hit BOB THE BUILDER, as well as scripting numerous episodes.

He has written a number of books, including two for older children: CLAWS OF FURY and CLAWS OF THUNDER. CLAWS OF FURY, originally published by Bloomsbury as KATZERS, is available on Amazon Kindle (click here) as is the sequel, CLAWS OF THUNDER (click here) Third in the trilogy, CLAWS OF DESTINY, will be published later in 2013. In recent years he has written scripts for the BAFTA-nominated series KING ARTHUR'S DISASTERS, his episode CIRCUS CALAMITY being nominated for a British Animation Award. He also worked as Series Script Editor and contributed a number of scripts to DENNIS AND GNASHER, a 52-part series based on children's classic DENNIS THE MENACE. . In an educational capacity, he acted as a mentor for the animation group at pan-European creative workshop PYGMALION in 2004, and fulfilled a similar role for PRIME4KIDS&FAMILY in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Recent shows for which he has written include JUNGLE BOOK Series 2 and RAY AND RUBY.

Chris has a grown-up son, and lives in Oxford with his wife. His leisure interests include playing piano and guitar, cars, movies, comedy and travel.
